For packaged food manufacturers, a single contaminant incident is enough to damage a brand that took years to build. Retailers, auditors and international buyers now treat X-ray inspection as a standard requirement — not an optional upgrade — for any food product crossing borders.
The two machines in these photos are Fanchi-tech FA-XIS series inline food X-ray inspection systems, photographed on our Shanghai factory floor right after assembly and before final testing. Every unit you receive goes through this exact build and verification process.
Unlike conventional metal detectors that only respond to magnetic metals, the FA-XIS series uses density contrast imaging to identify a full range of foreign bodies inside sealed packages:
Beyond contaminant detection, the system can also identify packaging defects such as missing products, broken seals, incorrect fill levels and damaged containers — adding a second layer of quality control on the same line.
The FA-XIS series is engineered for typical packaged food products that run on medium-speed production lines. It works with almost all common packaging formats:
Typical applications include snack foods, bakery products, confectionery, dairy products, processed meats, seafood, ready meals, spices and nutritional supplements.
Every detail of the FA-XIS series is designed for daily use in a food processing environment:
The machine sits inline between your packaging machine and your palletizing area. It inspects every single package at full production speed — no sampling, no line stoppage, no manual handling.
What you see in these photos is our standard production flow. Every FA-XIS machine goes through three verification stages before it leaves our factory:
This means when the machine arrives at your plant, it is ready to install, calibrate and run — not a kit of parts that needs days of on-site assembly.
Shanghai Fanchi-tech Machinery Co., Ltd. has been designing and building food inspection equipment since 2010. Our FA-XIS series X-ray systems are installed in food factories across more than 30 countries including the USA, Germany, Italy, Australia, Russia, Turkey, Mexico and South Korea.
Is the X-ray radiation safe for food and operators?
Yes. The radiation dose used in food X-ray inspection is extremely low and does not make food radioactive or change its chemistry, taste or nutrition. The machine is fully shielded and meets international radiation safety standards for both product and operator protection.
Can it inspect aluminum foil packaging?
Yes. This is one of the biggest advantages over metal detectors. X-ray systems penetrate aluminum foil and metallized film easily, making them ideal for coffee, snacks, ready meals and other foil-packed products.
Can this machine connect to our existing production line?
Yes. The FA-XIS series is designed for inline integration with standard packaging equipment. We provide mechanical drawings, signal interfaces and integration guidance to match your line speed and layout.
What is the typical lead time?
Standard FA-XIS models are normally delivered within 4–6 weeks after order confirmation. Customized configurations may require 6–8 weeks. We will confirm an exact delivery schedule with your formal quotation.
Do you provide installation and operator training?
Yes. We offer remote installation guidance, video training and on-site engineer support upon request. Every machine ships with a full operation manual, maintenance manual and wiring diagram.
The best way to evaluate an X-ray inspection system is to see it run on your actual product. Send us a sample package, and we will run a full detection test on our factory floor and send you the X-ray images and performance report — free of charge.
